Delta Pa. Parade

Post by Carter »

Got a call from the parade coordinator asking if I would bring my truck and join the fun at the Delta Fireman's celebration and carnival. Feeling honored that he ask I agreed to attend the event that was being held yesterday, July 13th. The line up consisted mostly of fire trucks, ambulance rigs, farm tractors some floats from local agricultural originations, future farmers and such as well as horse mounted groups and exactly 5 MVs four owned by one man, John Appel and my M37 (the only one). Sandy and I were assigned parade line up number 101 and once in our assigned line of march spot we waited about 45 min. before we began to roll. speed was slow enough my truck easily ran most of the 1 1/2 mile route in high range first gear which allowed a nice engine speed to turn the cooling fan fast enough to be able to maintain a 180 degree coolant temp. with no overheating although the cab interior temp. was almost 100. I did not take any pics during the parade although we saw lots of folks taking shots of us. Several men offered to have me give them the truck, got lots of thumbs up and comments like great looking rig which always brings a smile to my face and thoughts to my mind that all the hundreds of hours and dollars spent were worth it.

Great pictures Carter. Looks like a good time. Nothing like creeping along in a hot parade and having your rig behave.
Thanks for sharing :)

Thanks guys, glad to share shots of MV eye candy.. :D . Parade day found us driving nearly 100 miles in the old M with no problems except for the heat and humidity with a real feel heat index of 96 degrees.
