A new kid on the block.
I'm an owner of a rather trashed M37 Utility trailer with an M37 Dodge Bed on top. Rust all over, metal dented and broke, Plus the lack of lights and wires that go to nothing.
Miss matched tires, painted a BRIGHT yellow, and was used to haul dirt that is full in the tool compartment up front.
I'll see if I can get a few Pics up, I'd like to know what the year is of the bed and what id need to make it as original as possible.
It's a neat home built trailer but it's days of safe use are over and a rebuild is in store. (not by me)
I own a Dodge 1975 sportsman RV and will tow it behind that after there up and going.

Hi Delta,
Welcome aboard. As for the year of the bed......they were all the same from 1951 thru the end of production, so there's no way I know of to tell exactly what year it was made. Parts are available for it, and the cool thing is that it unbolts to be taken apart. John at Midwestmil.com sells the bed floor, I've seen NOS fenders on eBay as well as lots of used fenders at military swap meets, and the bed sides also come up every once in awhile on eBay. Tailgates are a little tougher, but I've seen at least one at every swap meet I've been to in the last 2 years. Not to mention that just about every guy on here has a backyard full of old M37s.....so finding parts should be relatively easy...if not all that inexpensive.
I checked out your gallery pics. The V-6? I'll say 84-86 Ford Bronco II.
regards,
bob

Re: A new kid on the block.
one subtle thing i have noticed on different M37 beds may help with year of MFG is the mount for the fording exhaust. Some have a short mount such as this:

some have a longer mount such as this:

Dont know where the change comes in but my 51 had the longer style

T,
That's a good catch....I never noticed that before. Seems that's ANOTHER early truck feature that got changed along the way.
Both of my trucks have the longer version, and they're from April and November of 1952.

Re: A new kid on the block.
I have taken pictures of dozens of M37s. Most are a 3/4 view of the right side, of the ones that have the passenger side view, only the B1 version has the shorter mounting bracket.
Re: A new kid on the block.
The V6 is on a 1984 Ford Bronco II. The guy up the road is going to restore the bed for me at a tone of $1200 - $1500.
I'll get some BEFORE photos before its sent to get the work done.
I bought the trailer and bed solely for the reason it bolted together. Witch means i can store it easier then i could with any other bed.
The only down side is there's no shell that would fit on it due to the flare on the sides and the 2" drop up front.
