Window Crank Handle differences

If you recall back in January I broke off my drivers door window crank in the bitter Ohio cold.
I found one of my originals to clean up and found it was twice the thickness. Maybe a vendor told the government "I can cut your cost in half"

Different contractors that's for sure. The question is did they change the design requirements or are both products with-in the design specs as per the contract? I suppose we will never know.....

I did get to look at my spares today, they all match the NOS one's I installed a while back.

I've noticed that for most of them the knob turns on the crank. My truck came with one that doesn't turn. I don't now if it's an origninal or a replacement.
