You Guys Watching This - $26,600 and rising!

Post by w30bob »

This M37 was just listed on Ebay and already the price is well over $26,000. I'm not seeing what they're seeing I guess. Nice valve covers....but that's about it under the hood. Seems they dropped in an 350 Chevy, nice vinyl seats, and painted it silver. BAM! It's worth $26K. Wow. I know I'm being cynical....but like I said....I'm just not seeing it.

Hey....I'm the guy who said Cable TV and Bottled Water would never sell........so what do I know ????

And reserve not yet met!! Its 21k now, maybe someone backed out.

opening bid was $900. Probably the shop owners going back and fourth with each other to make it seem like its worth the money and get someone to jump in it and buy it at a ridiculous price. Im sure you will see it relisted.

it's actually quite customised, maybe I need to paint the rocker covers on my V8, should push the value up a bit. Mind you, I have been having thoughts about the bodywork on my truck, I know you guys like it but ya see I have this cutting wheel and a few ideas..........

First thing I noticed is that they chopped an ambulance and then after reading the description it confirmed what I thought. Although unique, I don't see 21K.

Yes, I noticed this gem yesterday, one would think for that price you would get a new clear and un-scratched speedometer?

The shop that built it probably invested a butt load of labor and money. But, as mentioned, it lacks
a lot of what you and I would expect to be classified as a "survival vehicle". Probably still has the
old M43/M37 drive train with it's inherent 60 year old problems. While I'd admit the vehicle looks
really cool, I would also have to say those guys wasted a lot of $$ and time to produce something
that turned out to be a half assed effort. At 21 or 25K there's still some sucker out there that will buy
this pig in a poke. 6,900 miles...... yeah right.

In case anyone misses out on this gem, here is another ePay deal, also ran when parked I'm sure:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1954-Dodge-M37- ... 67&vxp=mtr

This ranks right there with the $625.00 carb:

Oh well, Good for them if they get the asking price

PS, The safety wire job on the carb is worth the asking price alone. Make sure this fellow does my next aircraft fasteners
