My first M37, New to the site

Post by misupratwin »

Hi everyone, I'm Tim. I have a couple of other military trucks, But this is my first M37.

I went to look at a mill in the junkyard for parts and there it was sitting.I had to give the owner the scrap weight back for the truck.
It seems to be fairly complete. It is a 1953, minimal rust, with a winch. It is mising a few parts ,but mostly complete.

I would add a photo but i get a message (board attachment quota has been reached). Thanks ,Tim

I saw your post on steel soldiers welcome to the site! For pictures I load them to photobucket and paste the Img link in the reply box.

Welcome to G741, saw your trucks pix on SS and it looks like a good one to start your M37 adventure with.

Well my truck was a mud truck in it's past, crossmembers packed full of mud,Rear brakes covered in mud (was mud at some time) and axle grease, Man what a mess. So now i have the wheel cylinders all apart, the master cylinder apart, rear hubs off for new bearing and seals. Found the left rear axle shaft is broke, It was fun getting that broken piece out, A magnet in a copper pipe works well.

My parts list is growing faster than I can buy parts.I need a parts truck! But i did recieve some parts today from xm708 (thanks)

And now my time line has a date, usually when i buy a project my girlfriend for 16 years , now fiancee, and future wife ( 06/01/13 ) doesn't care if it ever runs or drives ,she rather i not buy anything. Suddenly she likes this truck and She wants to leave the chruch in it. Tim
