voltage resistors.
i just posted in the swap meet by mistake.sorry for that. my question is can i make a 24 volt sending unit in the tank work on 12 volts.and is there a resistor to make 24 vots 12 volts. i f i was to grab on side of the battery to just have 12 vots how much can i run on that. will i be over working the 24 volt charging system. thanks

I just rebuilt and repaired my original sending unit. There is no voltage supply to the sending unit. It just puts out a resistance value, 0 ohms empty, 30 ohms full. If you go 12 volts, you'll have to change the gauge though. If you change the gauge, you'll want to put in a matched fuel sending unit that puts out the correct resistance values the gauge expects to see.
