windshield weatherstrip

Post by neverfinished »

Now that I have the glass remounted in my windshield frames, I began searching my collection of parts that I've gathered over the last 15 years or so for this "6 month project" to see if I had the weatherstrip that goes around the sides and bottom of each w/s frame. I found a receipt from one of the suppliers for it, so knew it was there somewhere. What I have is a long straight strip that fits the groove but doesn't really have the right profile. Also, since it is just a straight piece, there's no way to make the corners without cutting it at a 45 and butting (gluing?) them together. Is this what you guys have found or are the single 3 sided pieces available? Thanks.

Definitely not straight, been a while, But I remember it being three sided and a top piece, I'll look around next year, er... tomorrow for it, I know I have a spare. I got what i have from Sid Beck, he's celebrating NYE in the Big Motor Pool In "Da Sky.
I know that John Bizal at; http://www.midwestmil.com has them in stock.

Hi Ted,

Yes, as Bruce said, it's a three sided w/strip with distinct squared corners. Everyone has them, as they were used on the M35 as well. They're on Ebay, AB Linn has them, JB, etc, etc. If I remember correctly (no guarantees) they sell for about $40 for the pair.

It appears you purchased the same weather stripping I did. I tried all kinds of ways to make it work. Like Bruce and Bob said get the ones that are made with the corners.

Hi guys. Thanks for the responses. You'd think as often as I've looked at Midwest's website I would have remembered seeing them there. Looks like I'll be adding it to my list and giving John a call-again :D .
