Canvas top strap routing

Post by ZGjethro »

Today I noticed that one cab strap wraps around the whole bow, and the other goes just through the fastening slot. Is the correct routing around the whole bow? In the three years I have had the truck, I never noticed the different ways the cab canvas straps were installed

Should be two loops in the rear, two loops on the windscreen. My pic was too BIG to post, pm me if you want to send it?

Bruce, what I mean is that one strap loops around the bow and goes through the slot. The other one goes from the window frame and only goes through the slot in the bracket. It is a really stupid question, but I cannot seem to find an answer. I spent an hour on google looking at images of M37 tops and I could not find a picture to answer my question.

I'm confused, but am with Bruce-mine has two brackets at the top of the windshield frame and two footman loops on the bottom of the rear cab bow.

I thought I could send it thru the pm, but no dice? I did send you a pm w/my email. My top is folded away right now, and my pics a w/o top.
It sounds like you need to weld a "Foot Man Loop" onto your bow frame?

I must not be explaining it well. The truck has two strap holes on the windshield frame, and tow on the cab bow. Does the strap wrap around the circumference of the bow, and then go through the slot, or does it go through the slot only, which is on the bottom of the bow? I might need to take a picture to show what I mean

You are explaining fine, I think everyone is assuming you are talking about the strap going thru the loops on opposite ends. Strap should go from windshield...over top of rear bow then thru the footman loop thats welded to the bow.

Thanks Rick. I thought that was the way it went. I am adding an LED strip along the bow as an interior cab light and wrapping the strap around the bow works better for me.

A little late but I knew I had TB 9-2855-7 and it had good pictures of the Canvas top kit that was removed to install a hard top and winterization kit.

Thanks Bert. That is the way one of my straps are routed, and is opposite the way rick mentioned. Thanks for the photo. I have decided that for my purposes, it does not matter how they are routed. I think I will leave them around the whole bow as I just made them both that way last night.
