Bed wood again?

Post by Wayne64 »

My question is, does anyone have a close up picture of the junction of the front and side rack? I measured the existing side pieces and they only measure 75-1/2" instead of the 77" that is always mentioned.

I just brought my sides and headache rack home to start the wood working. First I have to straighten out the stakes that are all tweaked, begs the question why weren't they boxed tubing?
Thanks all,

Thank you John, Just like I thought whoever did the side boards didn't bring them far enough forward toward the inside corner.

Here is a laugh. When I bought the truck the front rack was not installed and laying in the bed. So before I start taking off the wood I figured to attach the corner off the truck to see how much clearance I had. Wouldn't go together, I guess when the truck was done by a body shop years ago they couldn't figure out that the brackets were left and right that attached to the headache rack.
