Far East Air Force markings

Post by refit1701 »

Since the application of markings will soon be necessary, I need to find a good photo of the FEAF insignia as applied to the bumpers of the trucks. There is one photo which is of a M37 which collided with a "Jap" truck but it is at an angle and not very detailed. Does anyone have a good photo of a truck with this marking?

I decided several years ago to mark my truck up as one stationed in Korea since there are not many vehicles marked that way.

Rick larsen did the door and hood stencils for us as I sent him the jap truck picture to help in him making them. We made the bumper markings by hand. I will take a close up pic of the FEAF emblem tomorrow.

Oh wow, I didn't realize your truck was marked as FEAF! That will help a lot!

Thanks!

I wonder if anyone can help with 301st Fighter Group markings for my MB Jeep?
Apologies for a jeep related query but mine would appear to have been with the 301st which subsequently became part of the FEAF in '46(?) and a google search has led me here.
I'm hoping to find a way to mark my jeep as closely as possible to its 1945 markings and wondered if anyone is able to help?

Thanks, Lee .

Sorry Lee, I don't have your answer but recommend you post this over on the Steel Soldiers website-they'll surely be able to help you out.
