Re: The time has come....
Thanks Carter & Bert, it was a good turnout but not even a blip on the radar compared to the ones you guys gave, barely 70 cars there not including the ones in the museum but it's a good social day and a leadup to the next swap meet. The next major event here is the midlands military meet and rendeveous so I'll try to get more done on the Dodge prior to that. http://www.mmmr.com.au/

Re: The time has come....
I doubt that it is Bruce, if it was though it'd be the nicest looking one out there and I'd be happy to have it blocking my garage door
How is the Green Godess progressing??

Re: The time has come....
I was just bustin' yer chops, as I've said before your truck is real nice!
I Rebuilt Zenith carb, new throttle body (courtesy of John at Midwest), all new gas lines, new alternator, new alternator bracket (fabb'ed myself) & a new fan belt. Ray's Disk's are in the work also, need to get the pads and other goodies next. Been busy.
BTW, My compression issues are over for now, they all came back much better?

Re: The time has come....
Sorry I missed your post Bruce.....
I had lifter problems causing erratic compression results but the 230 is straight to cam, I wonder what was causing your problems? - Sticking valves maybe? I plan on getting a few more things fitted up to the truck then I'll concentrate on fitout and finding the $ for some new rubber. I did look at an F150 Ambulance a while back - 4X4, dual alternators and batteries, dual tanks, 302 (or 351, can't remember) EFI V8, C6 Auto, Power steering, good bodywork and suspension and all the mod cons plus a full rollcage but I hesitated and it went elsewhere, it was very tempting to move the M37 on and get that but I guess it just wasn't to be...

No worries mate! I have been nursing a sore elbow for almost two weeks now, fell at work ruptured my left bursa, it looked like a small melon attached to my elbow. Lots of bruising and color now!

Re: The time has come....
OK, after the engine's "freshening" up it pulls much better now it's all settled in, I have no more flame outs as the distributor is good and the rotted timing cover I took off has more or less disintegrated since it's been left out in the air so it just wasn't going to last much longer and was going to cause me greif with water in the oil that would have destroyed the engine so the dicky distributor actually saved me a few bucks.
It's good that the truck now pulls up a medium grade in top gear, it used to then over a period of time it wouldn't get as far before 3rd gear was required so now I need to find my tyres then get the second engine rebuilt, I am even thinking of putting different inlet manifold on so it can take a 600-700CFM 4 barrel carby for a bit more poke but the economy on the 350CFM holley isn't too bad...
I am also trying to find a way to get that power steering box fitted, I had no idea at the time that the right hand drive configuration would be such a PITA for such things so I am trying to decide what to do, Decisions, decisions....
