New to the group.

Post by indybaird »

Greetings all. I have brought a 1962 M37B in running shape and am tickled with it. Good glass,no smoke, only two small holes to fix. A few issues to be be taken care of but I can drive it as I work. I tied to place the SN in the regisitry but couldn't get it it to take. I have 5 numbers on the data tag, they match the 5 on the title and are the last 5 numbers on the frame rail, any ideas what the issue is?

Try entering all the numbers from the frame rail, should begin with 2661 or 2668 for an M37B1 and welcome :D to G741.

Thanks for the reply. When I checked the frame rail it looked to be 26611 then the 5 numbers from the tag. Could I be using to many digits, should be 2661 then the 5 from the tag?

Check your numbers against this: http://www.g741.org/ProductionDates.html and try again using the number of digits indicated in the production date for your truck. Example: 2661 5XXXX

Going to try that now, looks like one to many 1's as I counted the digits there. I can make out some if not all the painted numbers on the bumbers and hood, is there info here that I might track the history of this truck? As of now I don't plan a full resto of this truck but do want to clean it up and give it the credit it has earned while still making use of it as a truck. I'll post photos later but can for sure make out 101 AB on front bumper. A good friend from my Masonic lodge was in the 101 and served in Korea, my truck is to new for that time but I would like to get marking right to show him.

Tried the register and got in this time. I'll add other numbers as I can. Thanks all.
