Kids love trucks!

Post by wvcharlie »

Every year, we downtown merchants host an event called Kids Day. Every business has an activity that is free to every child. It usually attracts several thousand people. I brought my M37 and My M725 ambulance in for the children to climb on and through. With most car shows having signs that say "Do not touch", this is one event that kids young and old can get up close to some military history. Many veterans stopped to relate stories to me of their own personal experiences with these vehicles. I felt particularily good when one mother said to me " My kids have done every activity there was but they wanted to come back and go through your trucks again. It was their favorite thing to do! I also set up a lister bag for an ice cold water stop.
Who thought getting water from a canvas bag could be so entertaining!

Charlie,

Looks like all were having fun, I would guess that you have created several future MV owners by doing this. :D

That is one reason I like doing it. You never know when something like this may have a positive life long effect on a young child. I think the thing that got me interested in all things military was watching the TV show "Combat" way back in the 60's. The parents ask lots of questions too. I think most would agree, the next best thing to driving our vehicles is talking about them.
