replacement axles on ebay??

Post by 06boblee »

I saw a listing on ebay for new Foote axles and thought "I'm getting some" . After looking closely at the pics, I noticed the flanges on the axles, and the 6 hole bolt pattern- oh well. The guy selling these has a whole pallet of them, and says that he made a deal with Foote to produce these. Does Foote still make M37 axle shafts?

What's the listing number?

My M's flanges have 6 bolts.

Stock M37 axles have a 6-bolt mounting flange - don't confuse the number of wheel hub bolts with the number of bolts retaining the axle...

Boy, I need to get out and look at my truck more often! The ebay listing # is 280913328532. It expired with no sales, he wanted $500 a set, and has a pallet full of them.

He's been trying to sell them for almost a month now.

What have 4140 (or any other alloy) Foote axles sold for before? I know the stock axles can be had for much less, but these new axles are supposedly much more durable.

Yes, they are listed again this week. I like how he states in the description "don't try to backdoor me"..? Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy   Odd there are not more up close, detail photos of the axles in the ebay listing? At $500 a set I would be real proud of them and have pics showing the splines, finish, and machining...
Anyone here know who this seller is? Reputation? I would not drop $500 on an axle set from this fellow, his listing , price, and vageness is just a turn off. My two cents.

It is interesting, I can't make out the name/address on the top of the pallet. Wonder if at that price if there is a warranty? Anyone know where Roosefelt, UT is?

The eBay listing includes, "Naturally though, any axle will break if you abuse it with rammin and jammin and therefore I will not accept any claims and/or returns." So no warranty.

I couldn't find a "Roosefelt, UT" but there is a "Roosevelt, UT" about 150 miles southeast of Salt Lake City.

Sounds like he plans to do some "rammin and jammin" to some unsuspecting customers?

Since no one here (myself included) apparently has any experience with these axles or this seller, perhaps we shouldn't assume that this is a scam? Leaving the price out of the question for the moment, I'm all in favor of upgrading the weak links in my M37, and I'd prefer to encourage and support the legitimate vendors. Hopefully, this guy is one of them.

I think these are the same "un-breakable" axles that Daniel Tibus had made? MM or any other old timer, do you remember what I'm talking about? As I recall, Daniel wanted more than this!
