can not find the cowl# /frame#/ or nsn where do I look so I can compleat my registy thank you!

Frame # is on the outside of the frame, on the driver's side, almost right above the axle. NSN I think is on the dataplates.

NSN stands for National Stock Number. Every possible piece of military-related material has an NSN. I don't have my e-manuals handy so I can't tell you what the NSN is for an M37.

The cowl number , if this is what you are asking about, is located on an aluminum tag that is riveted or screwed to the firewall on the passenger side (in the engine compartment just below the drip edge, the tag is about 1 x 2 inches i think).

NSN number is probably not on the truck. I do not think NSN were used ubntil the mid 1970's. From WWII to when NSN came into use there was an FSN (Federal Supply Number). I suspect if there is an FSN on the truck it would be on the data plate with date of delivery on the glove box door. ( can not recall if it is there or not)

I think you mean the army registration numbers, the FSN is the same for all 37's and all 43's etc. it is on the TM's, and is nothing more than the stock number for the entire truck as an item. The army registration numbers are assigned to each vehicle as it enters mil service and painted(or decal)on every truck on the hood sides and the tailgate. You may have to carefully sand through layers of old paint to uncover them, if they hadnt been completely removed in the past. If they have been removed there is no other way to find out what they were. Also on the front bumper and r bumperetts the unit assigned the truck will have their marking painted there and carefull sanding may uncover them also. Of course as mentioned above there is a dodge serial number on the frame and should match the one stamped on the data plate on the glove box door.

EVERYONE THANK YOU FOR ALL THE HELP ! I HAVE ONE OTHER # that is the bumper # which is an MVCC # of 4694 my guess is more then likely a made up number from whom ever had the truck before me if by chance Iam wrong please let me know .

MVCC is the Military Vehicle Collectors Club, so that number is not a real military number.

The bumper numbers denoted the unit that the truck belonged to.

....unless the numbers are on an Air Force truck. Then, the left side (as you're looking at it) will have the gaining command and abbreviated base name on it while the right side will have the vehicle number on it. Like this:
Front TAC/SAFB 54B 2881

Rear TAC 54B
SAFB 2881

This vehicle would be a 1954 model (54) vehicle used for general purposes (B) and would be the 2881st vehicle purchased that year. It would be assigned to a Tactical Air Force unit at Shaw Air Force Base, SC.

That didn't work too well! The software wouldn't let me put a string of spaces between numbers, so they don't line up like they should!
