There are two types of air cleaners,one is an inclosed fording type with snorkel inlet,the other just has a mesh screen.

There aren't 2 types of air cleaners, only the oil bath type was original equipment. The fording portion used with the air cleaner is only a shell that the original oil bath unit fits into. With the snorkel tube & flex hose installed, it is then water tight.
