Tail Light Manufacturers

Post by w30bob »

Hi Guys,

I see tail lights manufactured by a number of different vendors, such as Guide, ACCO, Du Mat, Industrial Lamp Corp, Autolite, etc. Which of these would be the vendors that would have supplied lights for my '52 M? I realize they all would work, but I'm interested in the correct vendors for that year. And where exactly would you find that information???

thanks,
bob

Probably Guide, ACCO, Industrial Lamp Corp & maybe Autolite? I myself have not seen the Du Mat brand? My front markers are ACCO the rear were ACCO, now w/ new doors, solid red lens from the Gamma-Goat. I'd have to look at them to find the moniker?

I would think it would be almost impossible to find out who supplied the light fixtures for your truck in 1952. The only way to know would be to see if you could find purchase records from Dodge from who they got the fixtures from and when. You would also have to know the date of your trucks assembly (Time, Day, and Month) it was produced and then check the records for when they purchased the fixtures that fit into that time period and then maybe you might have a chance. Then again they may have two or three vendors they got the fixtures from and in that case you'de have to try and find out which box was taken off the shelf and was at that assembly station at the time day and month your truck was built.

Ok I'm being difficult, but hopefully by my response you can see that finding that out would take some major detective work and even then there is only a slim to none chance of getting the right answer. Too many variables involved.

Bob....just put the type of fixture that you want on the truck and enjoy your ride.
