M35 Canvas Top Fit an M37?

Hi Guys,

I was talking to a buddy at work today and I mentioned that I wanted to find a low buck canvas top for my M37. He said he had an M35 Deuce more than a few years ago and thought he had an old canvas top for it somewhere in his garage. He's going to look for it this weekend. Any chance it will fit my M37? I assume if anything it's bigger all around. I don't mind doing a little hand sewing, but just wondering how big a project it will be. Anyone know if the M35 is dimensionally the same as an M37 cover in any dimension??

The M37 top can be put on the M37 but it doesn't fit worth a darn. The top will be too big. As for hand sewing. You can do it, but you'll need an awl and heavy thread. Think sewing leather it's kinda of the same...if it was me I'd take it to a canvas shop (i.e awning or boat cover place) and have them sew it to make any adjustments. But if the price is right (FREE) then pick it up. If nothing else it will keep cover your cab until you can get the proper top for it. That's my $.02 for what it's worth.

I have both trucks. The m37 canvas top is very precise on the fit, seams, channels, straps, etc.
Even for free I would not try to make the M35 top fit the M37, I think it would be a total and complete waste of your time.

Yeah fat fingers..... An M35 top doesn't fit an M37 worth a darn. I have to agree varg in that trying to make it work may not be worht the effort. But I stand by my other statement that if you can get it for free it would be worth getting to just keep some of the weather out of the cab until you can purchase a new top.
