You guys getting sick of me asking all these questions yet? No? Good, I got more. )
For my '52 should the handle of the THROTTLE pull cable in the dash be a "T" handle or a round button. I've seen both in pics and don't know which one is correct. I believe the "CHOKE" pull cable handle is supposed to be a round button.........but let me know if that's wrong. And the FORDING pull cable handle is supposed to be a "T" shape....right?
Can't speak for certain, but my 52 has a "T" handle for throttle. The reason being that there are notches in the mechanism that engage as you pull it out. In order to push the throttle in you must turn the handle at least 90 deg to release it.
THE ONES I HAVE SEEN FOR THROTTLE ARE "T", AND THEY ACTUALLY HAVE "THROTTLE" ETCHED ON THEM. HENCE I SPECULATE THROTTLE CABLES DO NOT HAVE A DATA PLATE BEHIND THEM. HOWEVER THE VERY FEW FORDING CABLES I SAW, HAD THE ROUND KNOB AND DATA PLATE BEHIND IT. AS FOR THE CHOKE, I HAVE ONLY SEEN THE ROUND KNOB THERE.
LIFE IS SHORT AND ENDS UNEXPECTEDLY. MAKE EVERY MOMENT WORTH REMEMBERING.
The round type was a friction button throttle which was prone to slipping and was replaced by the T handle ratchet kind in Jun 1952 at serial number 80030242 while the choke remained round throughout production.

Carter, that explains it. I've got the round knob throttle cable and it looks original. My truck was built BEFORE the cut off you mentioned (both by date and SN). Now if I can only get the darn cable to move........she's stuck tight!! )
