Does anybody know the gauge of the sheet metal on these trucks? It seems the bed is a thicker metal than what I am used to working with. I want to cut out a small portion of the bed about a 6 x 8 piece of rust-thru and weld in replacement if I can locate a piece of the correct thickness.

I have a "parts" bed floor that I can give you a section of if you would just pay the shipping.

That would be wonderful!!! Let me know shipping price and pay option. I do paypal if you will accept. Let me measure for sure. I think 1 ft by 1 foot would suffice, but will measure and get back.

Re: What gauge steel
Must be 16. 18 is much too thin. Just seems like it is thicker than 16 even.

16 gauge is almost exactly 1/16th of an inch. so if it's thicker maybe 14 or 15?

Re: What gauge steel
It is 16 gage, in areas that have been pressed, such as curved areas in the cab, etc. it may appear slightly thinner due to the stretch as a result of pressing.
