How about getting your original water pump rebuilt? It's so simple you might be able to do it yourself
and then you'll have an "original" pump with grease cup back in service. Wouldn't hurt to save the
"new" pump for a rainy day.

M37jarhead, That was my original intention, but when I was taking the original apart I broke what looks like a steel thrust washer between the nose bushing and where the shaft goes through the housing by the seal. As that is not in the kit I would need to find one or try to replicate it. So for now I had a spacer made and will use that with the new water pump until I get the correct parts to fix the original one.
