Buy good quality tires; and keep them out of direct sunlight when it's stored. Sunlight is a tires worst enemy over time.1953M-37 wrote:I got two more tires coming. What is the best way to keep tires from rotting and cracking????

M37 M715 Tires Denman 9.00-16 LT 8 Ply Military Non-directional, Set of 2. Are these a good tire? I have this set of tires being shipped. I will have the Tires Denman 9.00-16 LT 8 Ply Military Non-directional, Set of 4 when the two get here. I have two on the M-37 now..... Miles......

Re: Split rims what a pain.....
The biggest problem with Demans is the workmanship quality. Many times they aren't completely round and of course bump down the road instead of rolling true has been my experience. The military non-directionals offered by Specialty Tires of America are a much better grade of tire.

Are the tires from Specialty Tire the same that Coker is selling?

STA are typically sold by Wallace Wade and others. I don't know what Coker sells.Tanner wrote:Are the tires from Specialty Tire the same that Coker is selling?

Re: Split rims what a pain.....
The only makers I know of currently for 9x16 NDT's are STA and Firestone. IIRC, Denman has been out of business for a while. I recall Coker sells mostly Firestone, but they may have the STAs. Universal Tire (PA) has both and for the east coast, shipping might be less than Wallace Wade even if their asking price is a little higher.
Re: Split rims what a pain.....
FYI, The last set of tires I bought were Firestone NDT's and I got them from Summit Racing.

Coker lists the STA Superlug at $273.00 each - http://www.cokertire.com/sta-super-lug- ... 00-16.html
Summit Racing sells same tire for $243.00 each; references Coker on their page - http://www.summitracing.com/parts/COK-71014/
Wallace Wade's website simply links out to Specialty Tires of America's website...

Re: Split rims what a pain.....
I think we may have given the wrong idea. The tires shown on Summit's site are the Super Lug and not the military non-directional. STA, (Specialty Tires of America) also offers the military tread design, which are the ones I was referring too.

Re: Split rims what a pain.....
I run the STA NDTs and they're still holding air and have not deteriorated over time (they'll be getting more of a workout as soon as I get these brakes adjusted).
