Hey Crew.
We need some help over here in Iowa. My Buddy Bought a 1989 AM General, he thought. Little did he and I know they quit building these trucks in 1987. I'll try to attach a shot of the ID number from the dash plate. Where can I find out what year this truck was built. We need notarized proof! The truck is an M35A2.

Re: Builder Year??
In the civie truck world, they often list the year of a truck by the date it was sold. IE, a Peterbuilt made in 1987 might be shown as a 1988 if that's when it was sold. Not saying the military stuff is the same, but the M35 might have been built in 1987 and accepted/purchased by the military in 1989. In any event, the link to the SS site should help. If Carnac can't find info, it may not exist.

Re: Builder Year??
Why are you dealing with changing the year? If the form 97 says it's an 89 I would just title it as a 1989 and not worry that it might be a 86 or an 87 or an 85. To me it's not that big of a deal espically on a truck like an M35A2.
M37s are HMMWV in my world!

Re: Builder Year??
Hello My Friends!!
I'll look on Steel-Solders for sure! I will also contact CARNAC as well. The problem we have is with the State of Iowa DOT. These dirty dogs will not issue tags to a military vehicle not older than 25 years?? We are trying to get this law changed and it's an up-hill battle! The fight is on and I will not stop! Live free or die! (wish I was the first to say that) Thanks to each and every one of your Guys!!
