President Franklin Delano Roosevelt delivered this speech to a Joint Session of Congress
on Dec. 8, 1941, on Pearl Harbor, the day after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor:
Mr. Vice President, Mr. Speaker, Members of the Senate, of the House of Representatives:
Yesterday, December 7, 1941 — a date which will live in infamy — the United States of America
was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.
Never Forget
a date which will live in infamy

One of the most powerful speeches a president ever gave. You can hear the anger in his voice!

Re: a date which will live in infamy
I was watching a special last night on it, and it was interesting, they were at the memrial over the Arizona, and the park ranger in charge of it said one of the most surreal experiences ever seen was back in the 70's, when a group of Japanese verterans came and were offering prayers and Japanese origami cranes. The rangers asked them if they were verterans, and they nervously said they were, and that they had been pilots in the raid. They said that they had been lied to by the Japanese government, they had been told that the US had declared war, and when they found out that the reason the raid was such a success; they were ashamed of their country and government. They said that in order to be at piece, they had to visit and offer prayers and ask forgiveness of the dead in order to remove the shame from their families. Was quite an interesting thing to watch.

I tried to attach a picture of my Lori's "M" sitting in the drive this morning but couldn't get it to attach. It's on the last page of our photo album.

Never forget. I wonder if they still teach kids about Pearl Harbor in school? Or do they skip straight to Global Warming ?
Here is our Pearl Harbor display at MAPS. That is a piece of the Arizona in the case. I was honored a few years back to help write the letter to the Navy asking for a piece to display. We had a member who's brother is entombed on the Arizona. He helped procure this for us. We our blessed to have it.
I was going to post the pic here but I got an error stating the "boards attachment limit has been reached" ? , so here is the link:

Re: a date which will live in infamy
No doubt some instructors use the date to talk about the environmental effects of the attack, and how (a very small amount of) oil continues to leak from the USS Arizona.HingsingM37 wrote:Never forget. I guess the death of almost 3,000 navy, marine, and army personnel doesn't count as an "environmental disaster."

"boards attachment limit has been reached" was the same message I got.
I'm not sure if my Lori and I would have had any Children if I could have let them attend a regular public school?
Men, I'm scared.
