Cab placement

Hi all,

I'm getting ready to put the cab back on the frame temporarliy so that I can start figuring out how the motor and trans will fit in etc before the whole shebang goes to the media blaster late Sep early Oct. Anyway my PC took a major dump.. the system board went kaputz. I had to get a new PC and until I can get the hard drives out of the old machine and hooked up to the new one and transfer all my files to the new laptop I do not have access to the electronic manuals. Therefor I can not look at pictures of where the cab mounts to the frame and it's been almost 2 years since I took the cab off so memory isn't working for me either. Can someone post the cab to frame mounting from the manuals for me?

Cuz,

Thank you that gives me the bolt sizes which I also need, but I was looking for the palcement of the body. Where does it sit on the frame. Maybe it's obvious when you look at it, but I've pulled everything off the frame so if I need to put something back I want to do so before I set the body on.

If I understand what you are asking the cab firewall sits roughly where the frame starts to narrow. It bolts to the running board hangers.

The rear pickup body aligns with the riveted on hold downs. The forward most riveted hold down aligns with the headboard of the pickup body.

Hopefully this answers your question.

The manuals only offer layout illustrations of the rear cargo and utility bodies not the cabs. The illustration above is the only cab fastening illustration in the manuals.

You can locate the cargo box mounting tabs easily and set the cargo box or just it's front section on the front cargo mounts and then position your cab.

Ok I need to put the running board hangers back on the frame before I place the cab on. The bed is in pieces so I'm not even going to worry about that. I just need the put the cab on the frame so that I can start to figure out where I want to put the motor and transmission.

In the picture of the cab mounting bolts that Cuz posted can anyone tell me the thickness of part B and K the rubber pads? In my motor and transmission placement I need to take the hight of cab into consideration and right now the cab is sitting on the frame with no pad, so I want to get it sitting at the correct height.

B-930571-Pad, silenite, 3 1/2 x 2 x 1/4" thick, hole for 1/2" bolt
K-875639-Cab to frame (anti-squeak) (No size info given.) Probably close to the 1/4" above.

Info is on page 328 of the 1954 ORD 9 SNL G-741.
