Speedy Sleeve Part # Needed

Post by Carter »

I am posting here because I am unable to access the Tech Forum but I need to get a sleeve for the differential pinion shaft before I replace the seal which is now over 22 yrs old and has begun to leak. Anyone have a part number for one, NAPA maybe? I have a new seal, just need a sleeve before I start the job.

I need to get this done before I take the truck to the Independence Day parade I have been invited to attend.

Thanks guys, Carter

The sleeve # is 99187; but you will be wasting time and money if you are installing a NOS leather seal. Leather seals tend to leak just as bad if not worse with a new sleeve. Leather does not mate well with the micro smooth sleeve surface. A new production current day seal is what the sleeve is designed to work with.

Thanks Charles, I have a new production modern SKF seal and was not planning on using anything NOS, I only am going to do this once and having read your previously posted warnings got a currently produced one locally. Now I need to try and find a sleeve then the fun begins. Thanks again, Carter
