Valve adjustment access cover

Post by nanuke1 »

I have a lot of oil leaking from both my access covers. I have pulled them off, cleaned and replaced the gaskets and they still leak. How tight can I make the "thumb screws"? Can I use a plyers and really crank on them?

They might be warped from someone already taking the pliers to them. Try laying them flat on a true surface (outside surface down) and seeing if they are really flat. They dont normally take more than hand tight to seal. (Maybe just a touch with the pliers)
