steering wheel removal on M37

Post by rtkjmk »

:D I am in the process of trying to remove the steering wheel horn cover and button . The TM-9-8030 says to remove the the seal , how is the seal held on , looks like a stretch fit . I have a horn repair kit , so I am tempted to just cut it off . I can then remove the retaining plate and steering wheel . Does the steering wheel have a index ? . I do not want to create more work than I need to , best to ask first . thanks Bob k

The cover can be easily pryed from the edge, it is a stretch fit. Be careful not to break the plastic groove from the steering wheel.

The steering wheel is on a tapered spline.
