I purchased a Fel-Pro OS-4250C oil pan gasket for my '63 M37B1. In addition to the cork/fiber gasket parts, there are two small rubber seals I have not seen before in a Victor oil pan gasket used on another truck. The rubber seals are 1 1/16 inch long and approx. 1/16" in diameter - solid rubber. The legend on the box indicates that they are "2-R-6312 - Front End Seal".
Where do they go in relation to side and end gaskets?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Oil Pan Gasket Question
HMMM.... INTERESTING. THE ONLY TIME I CHANGED THE OIL GASKET SEALS ON MY 62, THERE WERE ONLY 4 PIECES OF CORK. COULD THE SET YOU BOUGHT BE SUITABLE FOR OTHER ENGINES OF THE DAY AS WELL? PERHAPS THOSE RUBBER SEALS ARE FOR ANOTHER APPLICATION?

LIFE IS SHORT AND ENDS UNEXPECTEDLY. MAKE EVERY MOMENT WORTH REMEMBERING.
Re: Oil Pan Gasket Question
I suppose it could be, but the stock number is the same one listed in all of the MV application charts and the box lists the gasket set for 1950's-1960's Dodge/Chrysler 218-230 cu.in. engines.
Thanks,
Joe

Re: Oil Pan Gasket Question
The rubber seals you mention go under the front pan support; seals between the support (arched piece that the front pan cork rubber strip mates with) and the engine block. They are typically not needed if you are only doing a pan reseal. If the support is removed from the block, then by all means replace them.JoeM37B1 wrote:I suppose it could be, but the stock number is the same one listed in all of the MV application charts and the box lists the gasket set for 1950's-1960's Dodge/Chrysler 218-230 cu.in. engines.
