Rehab?

I've got a problem and its bad. I haven't seen a show on TLC about "autoaholicism" yet though, so perhaps there is no help for me, and those who suffer like me... I fully expect to end up on an upcomming episode of "Hoarders" though, as I'm starting to stash stuff all over the place!

So, for something totally different, I've already aquired next years (or maybe 2012's) project. We who suffer from Autoaholicism are never satisfied with a current project as we're always thinking, planning, schemeing, and scrouging several projects ahead... I won't lament to anyone the details of how it came into my possession, other than I couldn't say no. My affliction seems to be branching out, I thought it was containted merely to the world of riding high 4x4's, but apparently, there is a deep seated need to "ride low" as well...

A real steel dash - complete with radio and clock - plus fuzzy dice and indian headdress hanging from the mirror


Orriginal tuck and roll rear seat - the rest of the interior needs to be replaced or recovered.


Chevy 216ci. Straight 6 with 3spd manual coloum shift, 4.10 posi rear end


1952 Chevy Deluxe Sedan - Complete minus some soft parts in the interior, no rust, no dents, and straight!

You're one sick puppy! You're in luck however, the only professional help I know of actually encourages this sort of behavior. They offer things such as classic tire counseling, painting instructions, repro parts, wiring harnesses, etc. Feel better now?

I had one of those in high school (early 60's). I had to roll her backwards, jam it in 1st and dump the clutch to get a little chirp! Spun it three times on the ice one day, hit a pole head on and drove it home. Tough old girl. I pulled the curve out of the middle of the bumper, pulled the ahh-oog-ga horn out of the radiator, installed a used radiator and drove it again the next day.

AS FOR THE ADDICTION, WELL THOUGH I LOVE MY M37, I COULD NOT LIVE WITHOUT MY BIKES EITHER, SO IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER MOST OF US ARE "DOOMED" IN THIS FORUM LOL IF YOU WILL RESTORE IT (WHICH I AM SURE YOU WILL) AND PAINT THE OUTSIDE, I WOULD SUGGEST TWO TONE RED/WHITE WITH WHITE INTERIOR PERHAPS

Its nice to know that we're all doomed together! Being singled out would suck!

Sotven, the car will get more of a resto-mod approach than a just a pure bone stock restoration. I'm leaning towards safety over outright performance at this point. Stuff like power disc brakes, 12 volt conversion, seat belts, and some suspension tweaking to make it handle better. I've found some nice enhancements for the six as well; including some new electronic ignition, split exhaust, and a dual carb intake just for some bling! As for the paint, I'd considered the red/white two tone setup, but at the moment I'm leaning towards blue and white - that way I can leave the factory paint on the dash, and keep it original in at least one spot on the car.

Or, I could always go OD green and turn it into a staff car?!
