Getting out there.

Post by rixm37 »

Finally I felt the M was ready for a lengthy trip into the desert. After all the work I have still hesitated to go out far enough into the boonies that if something broke it would be a challenge to get back out. That day came and we had a great 30 plus mile ride up into Redinton Pass in the Rincon mountains. After a climb up to about 6000 ft on the main dirt road we ventured a couple of miles off on one of the trails. I am sooooo happy. All the time spent on the M paid off. We had a perfect run up and back. My nephew Gage, is visiting from New Hampshire and has never been here before. He got his time behind the wheel and did great job. It was a great day.

The main road on the way home.

On the trail. My intrepid wife, Diane in the back.

It's sure beautiful out here. A mile or so from the main road.

Now where is the truck ?

My nephew who took the pictures and also got qualified on the M !!

Your M looks right at home there. It is a great feeling to get out from underneath the M and sit in the driver's seat an a beautiful day and head out to a great piece of scenery!

Thanks Sal and Sotven. It's way different from New York for sure !! The mountains are kinda in my back yard. Hard to believe that you come out into a city of over 750,000 in the valley below. I thank the stars often for the incredible actions of Teddy Rosevelt for creating the national forests !! Tucson is surrounded by them.
I don't know if my nephew is ready to buy an M yet but he is definately thinking of moving out here for school. Ifestos smiled on me, I should probably create a shrine to him in the "man cave" .
Sotven I'm glad the mountains look like home to you.
So if you come out sometime you'll feel right at home out here. :D

RICK, I HOPE YOU NEPHEW COMES THERE FOR SCHOOL. NOT THAT I DISLIKE NEW ENGLAND, I LOVE IT ACTUALLY, BUT I KNOW HOW IT IS TO SPEND TIME WITH BELOVED FAMILY. I LOVE SPENDING TIME WITH MY NEPHEWS, BUT THEY ARE 6000 MILES AWAY FROM ME :( AS FOR YOUR NEPHEW, IF HE GETS TO HANG OUT WITH YOU, I AM SURE HE WILL BE HAVING HIS OWN M37 VEEERRRYYY SOOOON LOL. IN THE MEAN TIME I WANT TO UPLOAD SOME VIDEOS I BROUGHT FROM HOME TO SHOW YOU THE MOUNTAINS THERE, BUT NO LUCK CHARGING MY GREEK PHONE YET. I WILL FIND A WAY... :) OH, AND YES, I WILL DEFINATELY STOP BY TO SAY HELLO WHEN I WILL DO THAT CROSS COUNTRY TRIP I HAD TOLD YOU BEFORE. :)
