Just got back from a week long vacation to Cape San Blas, Florida. Lots of fun at the beach and fishing. By far the best vacation I've had. It got off to a challenging start though. A few hours into my journey last saturday morning, I heard a couple seconds of squealing followed by my fan belt getting wraped up in the fan. The bearings of the belt tensioner had seized up and thrown the belt off. I got my suburban to the side of the road, and grabbed my tool bag( I never leave home without tools). It only took a couple of minutes to asess the problem. I was about 20 miles south of Cullman,AL. I called up a buddy in Athens,AL to ask for a favor, but he was not home but a couple of hours away. He recomended the NAPA in Cullman. I called information to get their number. They had the tensioner in stock, and I had the part number for the belt on the spare I keep in the truck which was important since 4 different belts are listed for that truck. The total for the parts was about $75. I told them I had a $100 bill and I wouldn't be needing change if they could help me out. 40 minutes later the napa driver showed up with my parts and change. I had to talk the driver into keeping the change, but he finally did. Ten minutes later I was on the road. Total time on the side of the road 1 hour 5 minutes. All in all a bad situation that wasn't too bad. So remember bring some tools, keep some spares, and travel with cash. Thanks NAPA

Not all parts house people are bad, too many times only the bad expeirences are talked about.

Hey I just got back from a week as Cape San Blas the week before. Lots of fun for me too but the fishing sucked compared to last year. Annoying little catfish stealing my bait. Stayed about a quarter mile pat scollop cove gas station on the left. Actually took our dogs with us and they even behaved themselves. Had a lot of fun after getting back, too, as I spent the last few days increasing my M-37 seating capacity by about 8. (Thanks to Snake River)

Oh well, back to work tomorrow. But I promise I'll be back at Cape San Blas again next year to terrorize all those 6 inch catfish and pinfish bait stealers.
