Steering shaft

Post by m-11 »

Just throwing feelers out there to see whats the availability of the shaft. I had to cut my steering wheel off and ruined the shaft in the process.

They are still out there. I remember people actually selling NOS ones recently.I have some used ones if you can't find one. Shipping may kill you from VT though.

ed,

Thanks for the offer I'll keep you in mind when I'm ready. I haven't seen any for sale NOS or not. I have to option of buying a truck that's been sitting in the local salvage yard. The guy refuses to part it out and will only sell it whole. Says it was driven it and parked where it sits. I'd hate to hack up a restorable truck for a few parts.

The steering shaft is the only odd thing that I have found on these trucks. It measures a .887 which is odd any way you look at it.

Have you tried Vintage Power Wagons? They should have some.

I got a NOS one from ABLinn a few years back. Don't know if he has anymore-shoot him an email.

I will be bringing home three parts trucks in the next week or so. I am in N.W. Oregon, kinda new to all this, let me know if I can help.
