M37 Shocks

Post by vtdeucedriver »

Hey all you M37 Guru's I have a question. Other than myself and now ED (AKA XM708) ever seen oversized military shocks on the M37??? I have been in search for a replacement shock that was bad on my M37 FOR MANY YEARS!!!!. The shocks installed are physically bigger in size then the stock shock. They have a monroe number but I dont have them infront of me at the moment. For years I have known George at VCS here in VT and have gone through his collection of take off parts and even HE did not ever notice the oversized shock.

I had always thought that they might have been from a M43 or maybe the XM 708 but nope, still have never seen them ANYWHERE else until TODAY!!!! While up at ED's place getting some badly needed parts for our M37, we were looking over his parts trucks and GUESS WHAT WAS THE 1st thing I NOTICED!!!!!! :D These were only installed on the front as the rears were stock. My rears were fine but one front was shot. All these years I did not want to convert it back so I stayed on the search, cleaning up the bad one and installing it but not bending the cotter pins just yet.

If this is still a unknown, I will take some pics next week and show the differences in size.
