My wife uses all caps, too. Her excuse? "I don't have to try to remember what words to capitalize that way." She also only uses one punctuation mark...the period...if she even bothers with it at all. Most GIs eagerly awaited letters from home when they were separated from their families. I dreaded them because they were so hard to read! I discovered early on in our marriage that my wife is functionally illiterate, even though she's a high school graduate. Fortunately, I married her for her other "skills." We've been married for 43 years, now, and it's still good. So I have to take care of all the correspondence! Big deal! Not a problem when I take the "benefits" into account! ;)

Easy Boys,
The gist of the message is the important part, not upper or lower case.... :D

ALL UPPER CASE?? ITS EASY FOR ME TO READ AND I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT GOING TO UPPER CASE AT THE BEGINNING OF A SENTENCE. ITS PROBABLY EASY FOR U TO READ TOOOO. WHATS IT MATTER?? AS SAID IN A PREVIOUS POST; ITS THE CONTENT. BY THE WAY WATCH MY SPELLING I'M SURE U WILL FIND FAULT.

Actually all upper case is more difficult to read but is easier to see for those with eye sight issues. Since we humans read groups of words and not individual words the upper case / lower case / punctuation items are there to better sort the data as we scan. Without those differences we must take longer to digest the content and sort it. There is nothing wrong with a person pointing out that what is placed in front of him is more difficult to process then what is normally in front of him.

Upper or lower case, I'll have to have my glasses to read either. All caps is more difficult for me, if I've had a stressful day, I catch myself not even bothering to read a post that is all caps, just don't feel like dealing with it. Therfore if it's all caps, I may just pass on over it depending on how tired I may be.

The moderator on another forum got so aggrevated with a few folks using all caps, he just out right said stop doing it. In his estimation, it was a way of one stressing himself with his voice raised or shouting at someone. That did not sit well with him.

If a person becomes accustomed to doing something in a certain way, they may see no issue at all, while it may annoy the heck out of others. We all have our ways, only human nature to do so, sometimes it is better to bend than annoy. I try to watch things I say and do more than I used too, sometimes a little thoughtfullness toward someone else can go a long way in ways you never even realize. I'm far from perfect, but I'm trying.

OK, I'll try. The new mains and connecting rod bearings are not in hand yet. Hoplefully today. I was offshore fishing yesterday and had some problem with the port engine. Got to that that squared away before I finish the M37 engine. I'm thinking I threw a turbo fan blade or two. she started to smoke black, like somebody threw a switch. I will ck it out this AM and hopefully have the new bearings by this PM. So how.s that; better?? Thanks,
bob
