Arctic top removal

Post by M37UK »

Morning, afternoon, evening All

Does any one have experience in removing the arctic hard top from the cab ?
I have removed the bolts from the section behind the seats and also the 2 bolts from the corners of the windscreen but the thing wont budge.
Does it require a bit more brute force or am I missing something here?

I have checked my Canadian M37 TM but it doesnt really give me much help in this respect.

Cheers

IMS there is a "J" hook inside each door post near the top that latches on two "pegs" that stick out (down) from the top. I seem to recall that the hook portion is inside the door post with only the bolt head and nut sticking out. Remove the nut and fish the hook out (its pretty easy) and the top should come off...

There are J and U bolts in the back and bolts all across the front (above the wipers and in the center). Mine was also secured with bolts drilled through the back of the cab. A wonder bar or two used on the back corners should get it worked loose. My original had some sort of tar looking sealer around the back edge. Good luck.

You are spot on, there was another 3 bolts on the windscreen frame but I couldnt see them as there was roof insulation hiding them!.
Undid all bolts and lifted top straight off with the aid of a forklift.

Thanks again everone for your help.
