Troop Seat Hardware?

Post by knattrass »

I was looking at another set of seats and noticed 2 metal brackets, one per side, on the rear seat board, so that when you fold the seats up, this little bracket can be used to lock them in the up position. Also, learned that there are 2 straps with loops pre-sewn that fit over the pullman loops to secure the front. Had not seen either of these before.

we only had 1 of the rear securing tabs and made the other, not sure what you mean by front securing loops?

Thanks Tom - I'll probably have to make the rear tabs as well so if you have a photo, that would be great (in the spring!). The next question is for the fronts - I saw that a canvas strap had a loop sewn in it - that you removed the pullman loop off the truck, looped on the strap and bolted the pullman back on. This way the strap is attached to the truck and then you use the remaining to loop thru the seats to secure the fronts. I was thinking that you merely used the pullman with a regular strap vs. the trouble of having one attached. Both work - which is correct?

If you're referring to the large bracket bolted to the outer bed side it isn't for the troop seats. The large loop is to hold down the top bows when they aren't installed. As far as the clips to hold up the seats, most dealers carry them.

Rick - thank for clarifying the pullman loop use for the roof bow storage. The straps we have look to be long enough to fit either application - bow or seat storage. Take care - Keith

I second that request. Someone posted a drawing from a manual, but I couldn't make the details out enough to get it right. Hindsight is 20/20 - I should have saved the pic.
