wanted rear spring

Post by 74Hayes »

hey guys, iam looking for a rear spring pack for 52 m37, when i picked the truck up i noticed it leaned a little to the drivers side at the rear. I had a peak underneath and saw the whole front half of the spring was missing! it looked liked it got sheared off, the break was not very pretty. There is a 4x4 holding that corner up at the moment. If anyone has anything or knows where i could find one close to me here in british columbia Canada that would be awesome.
Thanks
Kevin

Kevin,

I should be picking up a '51 for parts in the next week or so. The only problem is that I'm in Florida!

The spring packs, both front and rear on a M43 have more leaves than the M37 because of the longer wheelbase and additional weight.

Thanks for the input! They have 13 leafs and measure about 54 1/2 total inches. How many leafs does the M37 have?

Thanks! I am still a little new to the M37, M43 vehicles, most everything we work on are WW2 vehicles.

Then do the spring packs use like leaves in their buildup? If they did it may be as simple as removing the extra leaves. Can anyone scan the ORD 9 parts list for the leaves?

Leaf lengths are different because of the extra leafs in the pack. You can break them down, but cutting is necessary to come up with the correct combination of leaf lengths without leaving voids in the pack brought about by odd length leafs. Better to find the correct count packs or either use the 13 leaf packs with longer U-bolts if he doesn't mind the stiffer ride and extra height. He is most likely going to create an issue with the truck not sitting level by replacing only 1 pack anyway. Brian Asbury is in Canada, and will likely be this gentleman's cheaper outlet anyway, I imagine Brian has some that are correct for the M37.
