Bumper Identification

I cannot figure out what identification to put on the front / rear bumper of my M-37, and M-38 Jeep.
I have an old photograph that I took while I was in Korea. I can clearly make out the front bumper right side. It has a prop in a circle, next to it, it has FEAF. ( Far East Air Force) Now on the left side the is the number 17 can't make out the number next to it.

I was in the 17th Bomb Wing, 37th Bomb Squadron. Would the squadron number be next to the Wing number?
What numbers or letters do I put on the two rear bumpers? and front bumper?
I was told that on one of the rear bumpers, there should be a number that signifies the number of that vehicle in the squadron.

For info, the AF Wing relates to the Army Regiment/Battalion and Squadron relates to the Army Company ( I think)

I dont know if this would be right for Korea in 1951 but if you were looking at your front bumper you would see.

FEAF 17 BW)(left of bumper 37 BS 4(right of bumper)


Then on the rear bumperetts


FEAF (left bumperette) 37BS (Right bumperette)
17BW 4

I know this is right for a 60's vintage truck but markings that early I am not sure.

So if done this way, it would be Far East Air Force, 17th Bomb wing, 37th bomb squadron, truck #4.

I will do some digging on the internet to see what I can find.

This info is of interest to me since my AF truck will be marked up as a vehicle in Korea (post war).

Anyone have a better pic of the propellor in the circle so I can make a template?

where else can you get a direct, succinct answer to such inane questions as bumper markings but from the great people on this site??? That was absolutely a tailor made answer for the man. !!!

Great pics, thats what I thought about markings. So it can go various ways. I had wondered if ours was right. Dad made up the stencils so I never got talked to about it. Thought it looked great so we ran with it. Guess its a good call

It certainly has helped me quite a bit. I know on which direction to go now.

I do have a favor to ask you. I would like to duplicate your "circle prop" that you have on your bumper. Could you tell me who made the stencil for you? and how can I get one.

If not, would you take a clear photo of the circle prop so I can have a stencil made up.

Would really like to hav ethe circle prop because we had that on our vehicles in Korea when I was there, 1952-53.

My father cut it out with a exacto knife and made it. I will call him and ask him what he did with it. If its still around, I will send it to you. If its not, I will take a close up pic and the dimensions.
