Fuel connections...

Post by Oddjob »

Fuel connections from the frame under radiator to the carb...

Okay I got this mess I've been working on fixing for a little while what I have now is pretty much all the half assed stuff pulled off and as I don't have a manual yet... and I just know how much you guys love to answer questions as such can anyone clue me into the connection from the fuel line under the frame by the radiator to the fuel pump...

The way it looks to me is that the fuel line connects to the front of the fuel pump then exits the back of the fuel pump up to the carb...

Another question I have is I have a rubber hose that was attached to the front of the fuel pump is that OEM or something aftermarket someone did it has compressed fittings on it but if its OEM I need to replace it as it's pinched from the guy twisting it to do something I haven't figured out yet...

Yes, there should be a short rubber line and a fuel shutoff valve between the metal line and the fuel pump.

Vacuum Line

The M37 series have double action fuel pumps and there are both fuel lines and vacuum lines involved.

The hose you need on the incoming fuel line at the pump is #11078 at your local NAPA Store. This hose is exactly like the original.

Well appears to be the fuel shut off valve would be missing...
Unless it's attached or very close to the pump... I need some degreaser it all looks dark black brown to me...

As for the vacuum lines Tim they are all hooked up at present they made no attempt to remove those fortunately...

Rubber Hose Mseries I'm on that... They might try to hide from me after I tortured them with one of my part searches on Wednesday I'll have to try a sneak attack... :D

Thanks guys appreciate the input... I had to put my project aside for a couple weeks as I had an event to attend in Arizona... Now its back to skinnin' knuckle's and spinnin' wrenches...
