Does any body knows where to find WWII willys jeep?

Post by M37DODGE »

I know it is not the forum, but I do not know where to go to ask about it. I would like to have a MB or GPW Willys jeep, and maybe somebody know enterprises which sell restored or semirestored willys jeeps. The Idea is to export it to Spain, I already know somebody to export it, but know I need to find a jeep for a reasonable price. Does anybody knows........?

Thank you very much indeed

If you go to the Jeep forum (www.g503.com), you may find one for sale. It's a lot like this forum, and the guys there are very helpful with Jeep questions.

A reasonable price may be hard to find. However the US dollar is in the crapper  Most prices on anything restored for a good WW-II Jeep have been anywhere from $8,000 to $18,000 USD.
There are a bunch kicking around Europe that never came home.
Something that is worth restoreing might run $3,000 to $5,000.
The later model Jeeps are not commanding the preimum. A good M38A1 can be picked up for around $5,000.

Hello William. I am a bit confused about you want to "export to Spain" you mean to bring out of Spain? I guess you meant "to import to Spain." If so, I know an enterprise in Greece, from where I got my m37. Let me know if I understood correctly and if you are interested. :)

Hi every body.

Say thank yoiu lifter for the forum page, very interesting.

Tom and snake river. I am looking for a restored Mb or GPW at that price, 8.000 $, but where can I find it with some guaranties, as i am going to buy it with out see it in person and without trying it? I am in spain.

Sotven, you are right, I would like to buy a MB or GPW and bring it to spain, because of the depreciation of dollar vs euro. about the place in greece are you talking about armytrucks.gr? I have emailed them but no answer, and I think they have M38 no Mb or GPWs? Haven´t they? Another problem would be the shipping costs. In america I know people who send me the willys for 750 euros.

Thanks all for yor collaboration.

William, I was referring to www.gpvc.gr. The person in charge is Chriss Roussis and their phone number is 210 9623040. They are located in Athens, so this would be ideal for shipping aboard. I have no idea about shipping costs, but I guess the purchase price would be much less than listed for a vehicle that has not been issued any plates, (since you will register it in Spain.) I think you should give them a try. :)

No problem at all. Let me know if they have responded to you. If not, I could get in contact with them on your behalf. I know that in the past they had shipped some m37 to America, so I guess shipping to foreign countries is not new for them. :)

I tried to access the link you provided for the Greek site, SOTVEN, but I couldn't get into it. I got a message saying that my ISP could not access that IP address. (Probably blocked by our Homeland Security people. They must think it's a terrorist organization or something.)

It is due to the period he uses at the end of the link. The multiple periods make it think that you are searching an IP. www.gpvc.gr this link should work, or when clicking that clink, simply remove the period.

Thanks, Mac. I got into it just fine without the last period.

Thank you, too, SOTVEN. Those are some very impressive restorations!

Yes indeed my friend, they do quite some work there. Not only they restore them, they drive them hard also. At times they have restored various motorcycles as well. Once they had a Nazi Zundapp with a sidecar. The sidecar wheel was also driven by a shaft as was the rear wheel of the bike!!!!. Also That bike still had the machinegun mount on the side car, and its battery was the original glass unit!!! They had painted that one with the Africa Corps color pattern. William, if by Monday they have not responded, let me know and I will get in touch with them. Remember, this is Greece and things take their time (and time over usually LOL) :)
