Hows the passenger seat attach?

Post by m37_power »

My drivers seat is on a hinge, but my passenger seat was just setting on the base when i got it. Im getting ready to start on the interior this week, but im not sure what im missing for the passenger seat. Not sure if it was on a hinge or how it was attached.

I believe it jams underneath the seat back and has a small clip or clips along the front edge.

Seat has Pins

Post by SierraM37 »

I believe the Pax seat has pins, atleast on the front two corners that fit into holes on the seat frame. That's it as far as I've been able to tell but I'm still on the drivetrain. The seat back rests on two hooks on the wall of the cab.

Yeah, the backs and even my drivers seat were in great shape, but the pass seat bottom is trashed. That makes sense that it has some clips on the front of it. I was worried i was missing a hinge or something. Thanks for the quick responses

The passenger seat bottom tucks under the backrest and then drops down onto two pins at the front. No clips...at least not on the older model.

Passenger seat on '52 M-37

Post by ron hardin »

Just removed mine . Seat back has hooks on top and 2 bolts on the bottom.
Seat has 2 pins on the front corners of the base that match holes in the plywood and a front clip like the battery box lid

I thought I had one of the base clip, but couldn't find it?

At the top of the cushion, you can see the clip and screws on the under side.
BTW, I have a template of the passenger bottom, let me know if you need a copy?

On the front center of the seat should be a latch just like the one on the battery box and it will hold it in place and the tang that it hooks too is in Bruce’s photo of the underside in center at top of that photo.

The 2 pins at the front corners and an over the center type draw latch in the center. The hook is fastenened to the bottom board of the cushion assy, the latch is on the seat riser at the front, is held in place by 2 bolts.
