Name of body part

Post by snowdad »

Good morning to all.
I need to know the name of the part on the cab that goes from the top of the windshield frame to the top of the rear door post. Is it a side rail? It supports the canvas top. My M-37 is missing both and I need them.

In TM 8030 it is referred to as the top side rail.It is in the sec 260 fig 217 page 404. I couldn't find an FS number but it's probably in the G741 list.

Thanks. It is the top rails I need. Bow and rail supports are there. Anyone have any luck fabricating these as they seem pretty hard to come by and command a premium when they do show up.

I guess it depends on where you're located as to availability. I almost always see a few at the local shows I go to. There will undoubtedly be some at Aberdeen in May.

Nickathome,
Will you be going? It will be just too far for me to go. What can I expect to pay? Saw a nice set go for under $100 on eBay recently. Would like to work out a deal with someone that would be willing to pick some up for me. Thanks for the replys

This is the only issue, one spot-weld is separated, making the gap for the canvas tabs a little prouder than they are supposed to be.

They aren't perfect, but some bead/media blasting, they will make nice replacements.
He might chime in, not sure?

I too have a spare set of the top pieces ONLY (the wedge-shaped pieces), as shown in Bruce's last picture. PM me with an offer-I'm in CA so factor in shipping.
