Any body out there know a good parts source for winch parts for the M37 that I don't have to sell right arm or leg to buy them? I need brass bull gear and drive shaft, and seal and gasket kit. The yahoo I bought the winch from had replaced shear pin with grade 8 bolt and you know what that means. Used is no problem, just usable.
By the way, just for information, the brass gear in my winch is cast iron, anybody ever see one of these in cast iron, I never have.
OLD m37 guy or old M37 guy, Hmmm?

Sam Winer Motors, Akron, OH. They will be expensive, there or elsewhere.
We have stainless steel worm shafts and seals for the entire unit, to my knowledge a gasket kit doesn't exist, we cut our own as needed.
Cast gears, yes I've seen them. Memphis Equipment had a bunch of imports made years ago because they could do them cheaper than out of bronze, never worked out too well, don't think they offer them any longer. VPW may have the same thing or similar, believe I saw them listed in their catalog.
OldM, PM me with what you need, exactly, as I am parting my Braden due to a wrecked bull gear for the exact same reasons. My worm gear seems to be OK, as well as the drum, drum shaft, brake, worm bearing caps and a few other odds and ends. VPW has seal kits for around $65, and they occasionally have bronze bull gears, but they are pricey at $375 bucks...
