introduction

Post by oldm37guy »

Hi all, just joined up. Is there a place for introductions? I did not see one, so here goes. I have been nuts for these trucks since we got one for the farm in about 1970. It was bought for me to drive, but used a lot on the farm. I drove it to high school for years, then my sister drove it, but it was always my truck. I guess I will date myself a bit, but I got it when I was 15, and I am now 55. (Oh my!) I could go on a lot more, but I will stop for now. Hope to talk with all of you more.

Welcome aboard :) Do you still have that old truck in the family or do you have another M37 now?

Welcome to the site. Do you have any pictures of the truck from your high school days?

Thank you all, I look forward to this group. Yes, I do have the original truck, won't part with her. One time I was asked if I had to choose between my wife or the truck. My answer was that as much as I love my wife, I would help her pack. (married 34 years) I have been the owner of the truck for about 40 years. As for pictures, I probably could find some, but might be a while.

Yep, many fond memories, truck has been fun. Just one story for fun here. One night in town I was stopped by local cop. Well, I KNEW I was not speeding. He came up and did the cop thing, you know " do you know why I stopped You?" I said no. He said someone had reported I was spinning my tires. I couldn't help it, I broke up laughing at him. When he asked why I was laughing, I just said, You really think this thing could spin tires on the street? He then laughed and sent me on my way. I think I was 16.
On the Bethany question, its about 1 to 1 1/2 hour from me, I am in FAR NW corner of Missouri. 15 miles from Iowa, 19 from Nebraska.

Had he been a really sharp cop he would of known you can get her rolling backward, grab first gear, dump the clutch and she'll squeal a little!

Spinning Tires

Post by SierraM37 »

There is one guy out there, doing some awesome fab work to put a big block with twin turbos and superchargers in his M37. Now that may spin the tires. Maybe you were sliding the truck around corners at high speed?
