Brake Vent

Two years ago I installed Disc on all four wheels of my stock M37 as well as updating to a dual Master Cylinder. Best thing I ever did. One thing that I did not know what to do was how I should have rehooked up my brake vent line. I just left it right were it is. Is this a problem? Should I just plug up the line? Or what is the proper way to conect it to the new Dual Cylinder?

The dual reservoir cylinder does not need a vent, it is sealed. If fluid gets low, the vacuum within pulls the rubber bellows downward eliminating the need for venting. Unless at some point you intend to go back original, I would suggest you remove the vent tube assembly entirely all the way back to the intake elbow and plug the hole at the elbow with a 1/8" NPT plug. As it is you have that open tube just hanging there, although the opening is small, it is an open route for dirty air to travel through the tube and into your engine, bypassing the air filter altogether, not good.

Thanks for getting back to me. I did not know if there was a special plug I needed to screw the vent line into the master cylinder or not. I will but the "Remove brake vent Line" on my things to do list.
