I so wanted to take the truck back out in the snow today, but I just came in from using the snow blower and its bad out there. Worse than the last storm. The wind is up about 35+ mph and the snow is really coming down. I'm going to err on the side of caution this time and leave the truck in the garage. Not tempting fate today.
NAh, not going to chance it today. Its now 3:43pm and the wind and snow are still coming down, with no letup in sight just yet. Kid's school district is shutdown for tomorrow, got the automated phone cancellation call a little while ago. I took off work today and will more than likely not be able to make it in tomorrow either.
Great shots Nick. We got spared the second snow wave and only got about 3-4" all day yesterday. The wind picked up a little but nowhere near what they predicted we would have.

This was the worse storm we've had since the blizzard of 96. We only got about 18 inches this time, however with the strong winds, we got huge drifts. My company shut down the first shift today so I get to stay home again AND I get paid for it without having to use another vacation day. This is only about the third time since I've worked there that this has happened. Its a good thing too as we literally have some 4 foot snow drifts in my driveway, so I wouldn't have been able to get to work anyway. I'm about to head out for the long day of digging out.....

Thanks. Man you don't know the half of it. The wind whipped up snow drifts 4 to 7 feet high on our property. It took me close to 4 hours, and this was with the snowblower, to clear a path for our vehicles to get out. The snow was packed like concrete....My kids had to stand on the drifts, then plunge their snow shovels down into the snow to break it up, at which point I used the snow blower to clear a path. Took forever.....I almost dropped when I got inside I was so tired.
The weird part of it was, my elderly next door neighbor's driveway had about 8 inches of snow that's it. Her property is flat and is shielded somewhat from across the street by a small hill. I had her driveway cleared in less than an hour. Crazy.
