Tires-FNG Question

Post by WarrenD »

Did all M-37's in service run NDTs? I'm specifically interested in M-37s in Vietnam during the late 60's (say 67-70). If the Army ran something else, what were they?
Thanks in advance.

Yes. All tactical (M-series) trucks were equipped with NDTs while on active duty.

Except USAF and some Navy. We were black top and concrete operators and didn't care for the low level of safety offered by those slippery grunt tires.

Okay! Okay! I'm a retired AF guy, too, and all the M-series vehicles I ever operated in the AF had the NDTs on 'em. As you say, we actually did very little off-road stuff (except for TAC), but we still had NDTs. I still believe they were all delivered with 'em installed, but they could have been replaced with more "streetable" tires (as shown in your pics) at a later date.

By the way...where are you coming up with all the nice pictures?? I like 'em!
