Reason I post this is Im currently getting screwed pretty effectively. Granted, don't get me wrong, I am happy to be employed, and am very thankful for it, but, here is the story:
Hired in as a Quality Engineer. Did that for 1.5 years, then, the guy I worked for got moved to another department. Our manager "promoted" me to the position. I put promoted in quotation marks, because, I was told that the promotion paperwork was underway and it would take 3-4 months to be finalized. Oh, and did I mention I got to do my old job as well?
OK I said, that's all well and good. I waited, and waited, and waited, and, here it is, a year later. I had my year end review, and discovered that there was never any real plan to promote me, only to fill the hole and for everyone to soldier on. The pay difference between where I am at, and the MINIMUM for the position I am doing is 12K a year, so, they shafted me that much effectively, and, the clock is still ticking, so, every month I do this job, is a month I get shorted a grand. Needless to say I'm not happy. I'm not trying to ask for sympathy or anything like that, I am simply explaining what happened, and, if anyone knows of any engineering positions anywhere EXCEPT the people's replubliks of Kommifornia and New York/Jersey/Mass, I would appreciate passing the info along.Thanks guys!
