Need a fair appraisal of my M37

Post by creinemann »

Hi Gang,
I am in need of a fair and impartial appraisal of my M37. Do to divorce, I am looking for a outside, unobjective appraisal. Many of you have followed my restoration on my website, and pictures and details can be found there, or here http://community.webshots.com/user/creinemann

As the vehicle sits now, it looks great cosmetically, but I know there are three major items that need repaired. The rear axle seals, brakes need work, the front steering gear box, and the system is 12 volt VS 24 volt. There is some rust under the rear corners of the cab as well. The engine will soon, or should have been rebuilt.

In addition, I have a 1953 M101 Trailer, that needs to be costed out.

I know it is difficult to fairly put a value on this, as items like this are "in the eyes of the beholder"

I welcome your input on this, please contact me at creinemann@crwdesigns.com

Fair Value

I remember when you snagged your buggy!
If times were better, 10 grand wouldn't be out of the question? Things being what they are, ask 8, take 7.5, for all (trailer included) JMHO?
Sorry to hear the bad/sad news.

Ok, not going to be selling it though, just looking for a value to base asset value on.

Sorry about the divorce...

Truck anywhere from 5k to 8k.
Trailer I'd put at 500 to 1000.
Hard to value something by just looking at pic's. :)

offer to sell it to the bride & let her sell it

Post by mannyc1 »

don't know your situation with the divorce, but often the value becomes a sticking point. if you are fighting any value you determine will be too low. any value from an estimator she chooses will be too high. the price in these situations is what you could sell it for today, for cash. i figure if you needed an immediate cash price, 5k would be a realistic, although not a good number.

HI Carl
Sorry to hear about your divorce. Your web site was one of the first M37 spots I found and photos you sent me of your truck helped me build my seats and rails.
I hope the storm passes soon and wish you the best of luck.

Just a quick update, got my appraisal, and my divorce is complete, and I got the M37 and M101 trailer and all the accessories, so looks like I'll still be an avid collector and restorer. Thanks to those who answered my request both online and offline.

Glad to hear that it is behind you and you can now focus on the important stuff in life again, like your truck, and parades, and the living history you and your son do.

Yup, she's doing fine, and have been putting a lot of miles on her going for drives and carshows, debating on the next fixup project for her, might be rebuilding the transfer case and transmission...a little leaky, just have to find all the seals.
